How to delete your account, what happens, and what we keep.
You can delete your ELA Portal account at any time, either inside the app or by emailing us. This page explains what happens, what gets removed, and what we're required to keep.
When you ask to delete, your account goes into a 30-day grace period:
- Your account is flagged for deletion, but it isn't removed straight away.
- You can keep signing in and using the app as normal during these 30 days.
- A banner shows the exact date your account will be deleted, with the option to cancel.
- You can change your mind at any point: sign in and tap "Cancel deletion" on the banner, or go to Profile, then Danger Zone.
After 30 days, the deletion is permanent:
- We permanently remove your login, email, phone number and account role, so you can no longer sign in.
- Your attendance and enrolment history stays in the academy's records, but anonymised: your name becomes [Deleted user] (or [Former tutor] for tutors) and your email is removed, so the records can't be linked back to you.
- If you join again later, you start fresh with a new account; your old data isn't reconnected.
- Open the app and go to Profile.
- Tap Settings, then Danger Zone.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read what happens, then confirm.
Your 30-day grace period starts right away.

We'll respond within 30 days, in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
A few records are kept even after your account is gone:
- Financial records are held in our accounting system (Odoo) for five years, because the Singapore Income Tax Act requires us to keep accounting records. For Parents, a record may also be shared between siblings.
- Anonymised attendance and enrolment records stay for the academy's own history, with your name shown as [Deleted user] (or [Former tutor]) and your email removed.
- A meaningless internal ID remains so the academy's totals stay consistent. It can't be used to identify you.
We don't keep your login, phone number or contact details after that.

If you're a Parent, you don't have a login account. To update or delete your contact information, email dpo@elev8acad.com and let us know what you'd like changed.
