O-Level Results Release 2026: What to Expect & How to Plan Your Next Steps

The O-Level results will be released on Wednesday, 14 January 2026, at 2.00pm.

This marks an important milestone for students in the Class of 2025, as well as a key decision point for parents supporting their children through the next phase of their academic journey.

While receiving results can be both exciting and nerve-racking, it is important to remember that results are a starting point — not the final destination. What matters most is how students plan their next steps thoughtfully and confidently.

What Happens on Results Day?

On results day, students will receive:

  • Their individual subject grades

  • An overall L1R5 / L1R4 score

  • Eligibility indicators for different post-secondary pathways

It is common for emotions to run high — relief, joy, uncertainty, or disappointment. Parents are encouraged to give students space to process their results while reassuring them that there are multiple pathways to success.

Exploring Your Post-Secondary Options

As you begin planning your next steps, visiting Junior College (JC) and Polytechnic Open Houses is highly encouraged. These open houses allow students to:

  • Experience school environments and culture

  • Understand subject combinations or diploma structures

  • Speak directly with teachers, lecturers, and current students

  • Gain clarity on academic expectations and student life

However, open houses should not be the only tool used when making decisions.

Use the MOE SchoolFinder Tool

In addition to open houses, we strongly encourage students and parents to make use of the MOE SchoolFinder tool. This platform allows you to explore schools based on practical and personal considerations, such as:

  • 📍 Distance from home – daily commute matters more than many realise

  • 🏫 School location and campus environment

  • 🎓 Subjects, diplomas, and programmes offered

  • 🏀 CCAs, enrichment opportunities, and special programmes

These factors play a significant role in a student’s long-term motivation, wellbeing, and academic performance.

Taking the time to explore and compare options helps students make informed, realistic, and sustainable choices.

Choosing Between JC and Poly: There Is No “One Right Path”

One of the most common questions students ask is:

“Should I go to JC or Poly?”

The answer depends on:

  • Learning style (exam-focused vs project-based)

  • Academic strengths and interests

  • Career aspirations and university pathways

  • Personal motivation and independence

JC and Poly routes both offer strong opportunities for growth and progression to university. What matters most is choosing a path that aligns with the student’s strengths, goals, and personality — not external pressure or comparisons.

Take Time, Ask Questions, Seek Guidance

Results day is not the end of the decision-making process. Students should:

  • Take time to reflect on their interests and goals

  • Discuss options openly with parents

  • Attend sharing sessions and open houses

  • Ask questions and seek guidance where needed

At Elevate Learning Academy, we regularly support students and parents in navigating post-secondary decisions by offering:

  • Objective guidance on JC vs Poly pathways

  • Subject and course suitability discussions

  • Insights from former students who have walked these paths

If you need guidance or would like advice on choosing between pathways, feel free to reach out to us — we’re here to help 🤍

A Final Word to Our Students

To all students receiving your O-Level results:

Be proud of how far you’ve come. Regardless of the outcome, there are many pathways forward, and each journey unfolds differently.

We wish all students the very best as you take your next step with confidence and clarity ✨
